Wanting More…

You want something more for your life? Read this.  (from Mike Kemski)

“You're not an expert the first day on the job.

You don't walk into the gym the first time in peak shape and super strong.

You don't whip up a chef level gourmet meal the first time you cook.

You don't enter first grade ready to graduate.

You're not qualified to compete against a black belt your first day at karate class.

You're usually pretty good at the stuff you've been doing for awhile, with consistency.

And it's comfortable to be good at stuff.

But, it's not very fulfilling to stagnate.

So why do so many people fail to expand?

Because they don't want to leave expert status and move into hatchling status.”

Have you ever found yourself at this stage?  Back to the beginning where you felt vulnerable, uncertain, afraid of what people might think of you….well that is probably your ego talking, wanting to keep you “safe” in your comfort zone, wanting to keep you under its control…

“Mike continues…Any time you want something new or different in your life, you have to re-tune and realign your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions with that thing.

And it's the action part that usually kicks everyone's ass. It's the action part that evokes fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

Because you're safe in the private world of your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, but the second you step into the arena, you're exposed for not being “an expert” at the thing you're doing.

This is nothing more than your ego taking too much control. Your egos job is to create desire, not navigate you on the path to achieving that desire.

That's your hearts job!

It may feel vulnerable and scary but, it doesn't have to. It can and should be fun, adventurous, and exciting!

If you're finding it hard to move from the safe space of your inner world, realize one thing.

Learning new skills and ways to enhance your current skills require actually doing the thing.”

It's easy to make excuses about why we aren't taking the chances, making the changes, but that's all they are is excuses.  The truth is we are afraid to step out of our comfort zone because we've gotten used to it, but if we look back we realize that it wasn't always comfortable, that we grew into it.  Now it is time to grow out of it and move into the next level.

“Making the call. Talking to the pretty girl. Lifting the weight. Cooking the food. Writing the sales copy. Doing the dance moves. Etc…

And you might even suck at it when you start.

So you have a choice to make.

Start or don't start.

You don't have to be a Jedi master to start Jedi training, but you do have to start Jedi training to become a Jedi master.

If you never do it, you'll never get good at it. If you don't get good at it, you'll never create the results you want.

When you surround yourself with people who support and encourage you, training is fun and very rewarding and fulfilling.

So find some people who support you along the way and now…

It's your move!”

Yes, it's your move…will you make it?  Will you step out into the beyond?  Will you take a risk?

Risk

Do not be afraid to shine.
This world needs what you have to give.
Open up the areas of your being;
expose them to yourself – to others.
You are valuable.
You are unique.
You have much to give.
Do not be afraid to give it.

As we risk ourselves, we grow.
Each new experience is a risk:
we can try, and maybe fail,
and as a result, grow –
or hold back and stagnate.

You have the potential
to be anything you want to be!
You are free to choose.
You are limited only by your fears.
Let your dreams take over,
fly with the eagles,
soar into life,
the world is waiting for you!
